Digital Archivist

  • Develop a new automated workflow for transferring digital files from CDs/Floppy Disks/Hard drive into a long-term storage location. Write and update documentation to allow for the delegation of tasks.
  • Create Python scripts to automate the creation of XML metadata files from Word document templates. Maintain the scripts so they can fit a variety of use cases.
  • Write Python and Bash scripts to support the renaming of over 15,000 TIFF files, their related JPG files, and their metadata, in preparation for their import into a Drupal application
Bentley Historical Library (University of Michigan), 2016-2018

Project Archivist

  • Assisted with a metadata reconciliation project to prepare over 2,500 XML files to be imported into a Rails application, using Python and Regular Expressions.
  • Interviewed colleagues to create user stories to better customize our Rails application used for metadata.
  • Worked with donors of archival collections on a daily basis. Served as the primary point of contact and determined whether or not material fit with our collections.
